Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to trace the influence that electronics has had and is having on Army equipment, to highlight the problems of repair, the recruitment and training of engineers and technicians and finally to give some indication of future trends. The paper is in four parts¿the period leading up to the Second World War, the war and the immediate post-war phase, the present day, and finally a look at what the future may hold.
