  • Abstract
    The ionization produced in the lower ionosphere by x-rays, ß-particles from neutron decay and ß and ¿-radiation from fission debris from a nuclear burst is examined. The effects of this increased ionization on the propagation of radio frequency signals in the various bands is considered.
