Abstract
The IEEE recently welcomed a new Women in Engineering Affinity Group of students from Balochistan University, located in the Balochistan province of Pakistan. Given the country´s history regarding the treatment of women, we wondered what it´s like to be a female engineering student in Pakistan today. IEEE-Government College University Lahore (GCUL) Student Branch Chair Synnia Tanveer shares her experience. While customs and opportunities vary from rural to urban areas, it seems the future looks very promising for female engineers in Pakistan.
