Abstract :
GIS and Space Syntax could be better used for analyzing spatial morphology in terms of road system and syntactic variables. However, few scholars have analyzed the potential spatial morphology in terms of the planning road system. Even fewer scholars quantitatively measured coherence between the analyzed spatial morphology and the planners´ spatial development intention. To implement the planners´ intentions better, this paper proposes an implementation method of spatial morphology planning, which was based upon GIS and Space Syntax. Firstly, Anhou Town´s new round of spatial development morphology was quantitatively analyzed by employing syntactic variables of integration, integration core, and intelligibility. And the analysis results showed that coherence between the analyzed spatial morphology and the planners´ original intention could be improved. Secondly, according to the theory that road is the carrier of spatial development, measurements of road width adjustment, road alignment adjustment, and others which were employed to optimize road system. The optimization scheme of the road system was proposed at the same time. Finally, the coherence between optimization scheme and planners´ spatial morphology intention was quantitatively measured, and the measurement result showed that the planners´ spatial development intention could be implemented better.
