A study on the coupling coordination of demographic urbanization and urban land expansion in Shandong province

This paper aims to examine the coordinated development between demographic urbanization and urban land expansion in Shandong province. The research showed that the increase in urban population and the rapid development of the urban area expansion were the main results of the rapid development of urbanization in Shandong Province. Through time series calculation, the development of organization could be divided into 4 stages, First Stage (1985-1991), Second Stage (1992-1998), Third Stage (1999-2004) and Fourth Stage(2005-2012). Both subsystems evolved from urban land expansion lagging behind demographic urbanization.
