Abstract :
The six papers in this special issue present some of the latest developments in remote sensors and information extraction algorithms for environmental management and hazard mitigation. The special issue seeks to contribute to the following major aspects: urban impervious surface mapping, soil moisture retrieval, urban heat island intensity simulation, coastal water dynamics, and subsidence estimation.
