Abstract :
This paper addresses issues on the assessment of the performance degradation caused by decreasing channel state information (CSI) of cooperative communication systems that employ opportunistic decode-and-forward (DF) relay under Nakagami-m fading conditions. Exact closed-form performance expressions are derived for the end-to-end average symbol error probability (ASEP) for both partial- and full-CSI relaying schemes over a sufficiently wide range of signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regions. Finally, the performances of the two schemes in terms of ASEP are compared, and the system performance degradation caused by decreasing CSI is investigated through both analysis and simulations.
