Abstract :
The paper discusses the basic design philosophy and principle of operation of a digital instrument which automatically measures a physical variable periodically, and produces a corresponding histogram output of the measured values. An illustrative example is given of how the instrument may be employed in quality control techniques applied to the production of ferrite components. Other possible applications are briefly discussed.
