Abstract
The major problem associated with the use of constant weight codes in high speed optical networks and frequency hopped (FH) spread spectrum applications can be solved through the use of artificial neural networks for encoding and decoding. The authors present the training procedures, encoding/decoding schemes and performance evaluation of (8, 3) constant weight code.
