  • Abstract
The remarks made in a recently published comment are relevant: The conversion principle analyzed in shares, indeed, the same idea that is in, whose work was unknown from the authors at the time of reduction and submission. The difference in terminology may explain why this previous work has not been found despite an extensive compilation of past published ADCs. Regarding the implementation proposed, the comments of Rombouts et al. are also valid since present implementations with a complete hardware reuse between first and second stages. Unaware of the fact that we independently came up with the same ideas, we have also elaborated this concept into a silicon prototype, which includes offset compensation in the incremental stage and a three-cycle mismatch insensitive residue inversion. The last paper cited in Rombouts et al. (see [8]) was not available when was submitted.
