Abstract :
A vertical scale-model range is described for measurement of radiation patterns from aircraft h.f. antennas. For the appropriate scaled frequency range, a minimum height for the vertical range is determined so that errors due to geometrical effects and the antenna induction fields are less than 5% in electric field intensity. A practical design is described and experimental results are presented for a test electric dipole radiator. Radiation patterns for a wire antenna on a helicopter model are given as an example.
