Abstract
Equations have been developed for calculating the horizontal and vertical radiation patterns for radially mounted dipole arrays. Techniques such as phasing, current shaping, and horizontally-offset v.s.w.r.- compensated arrays, have been provided for. The infinite reflector has been assumed throughout, but the finite reflector has also been considered, for simple pole-mounted arrays. The array gain is calculated directly from the dipole equations, taking some mutual resistance effects into consideration. Provision is made in the calculations for the application of phase progression, beam tilt and null filling.
