  • Abstract
    Voltage distribution along a semiconducting glaze insulator string was calculated based on an equivalent circuit. The impedance effect of the insulator unit on voltage and temperature distributions along the insulator string were also examined by calculation. The calculated results agreed well with experimental ones obtained in a laboratory test, showing that the equivalent circuit and the program used are effective for the analysis of electrical/thermal performance of the semiconducting glaze insulator strings
