Abstract
Every generation has its own challenges, and ours will be no exception. Those of us who are better prepared for these challenges will be better placed to surmount them. This article explores four global challenges that the generation of young engineering professionals in the workforce, or will enter the workforce in the first two decades of the 21st century, may face as engineers (and related professionals) during their careers in the next 20-30 years. It also suggests ways in which our generation can prepare for these challenges.
