Abstract :
A compact modulated laser-diode pumped microchip green laser is presented based on optical-contact Nd : YVO4/periodically poled MgO : LiNbO3 (Nd : YVO4/PPMgLN) crystal. Linearly polarized green light of 450 mW was achieved with a maximum electrical-to-optical efficiency (EOE) of 16.25%. A peak power of 541.5 mW and an EOE of 13.9% was obtained when pumped by a peak current of 1.96 A. This green laser is designed for mobile laser display devices and has potential to be manufactured in mass production at low cost.
