Abstract :
This letter describes the design of a system intended to directly supply electrical energy from alternate current transmission lines by means of magnetic coupling. The system´s physical configuration and electromagnetic parameters were derived from the formulation developed for the corresponding model. Computational programs were implemented in order to simulate the system operational behavior concerning two parameters: induced voltage and maximum value for the power that could be delivered by the line. The viability of such a proposition was experimentally verified by means of a reduced scale model and the referred two parameters were preliminarily evaluated.
