Sidelobe suppression method for stepped frequency continuous-wave radar

The problem of sidelobe suppression for stepped frequency continuous-wave (SFCW) radar is addressed. A sidelobe suppression algorithm is proposed via the reiterative minimum mean-square error strategy, where a minimum mean-square error filter is designed for each range cell. The performance of the proposed algorithm is assessed by simulations and real data. Results show that the proposed algorithm can successfully suppress range sidelobes to the level of noise for SFCW radar.
