Abstract
The capture of weakly magnetic particles by an infinite regular array of magnetic slabs is described. The proposed theoretical model uses the equivalent surface current theorem and the Schwarz-Christoffel transformation to obtain expressions for the magnetic and viscous drag forces. The equations of particle motion, which are subsequently derived, yield particle trajectories and critical entry coordinates. Using the critical entry coordinate values, the capture efficiency of the permanent magnet filter system is established
