  • Abstract
In hybrid schemes the finite-element (FE) method is used in regions where there are objects made up of multiple materials and/or having nonlinear material characteristics and/or having a complicated or high-aspect-ratio geometry. The boundary-element (BE) method is used for te homogeneous unbounded region that extends from the object of interest to infinity. The derivation of the hybrid FE/BE for the vector-potential axisymmetric case is described. The method is demonstrated on a shielded magnetic design problem
