Abstract :
The various parameters influencing the eddy-current losses and unbalance in electrode arms of an arc furnace are investigated. The volume integral equation method is used. Current distribution, phase impedance, bus-voltage drop, and power loss are presented for various bus positions and arm configurations. Experiments conducted in the laboratory have confirmed the calculations
