Abstract :
A novel method of analysing the performance of Constant Voltage Transformers (CVT), also known as Ferroresonant Voltage Regulators, is described. Synthesis of core configuration and analysis, using strip wound cut-cores instead of conventional stamped laminations, for CVT, are enumerated. Due to these two features, the design procedure is distinctly laid down, so that trial and error method of making a CVT is eliminated. The specific advantages of using cut-cores is clearly brought out. Results from practical models establish the feasibility of the proposed method
