Abstract :
The development and characteristics of a 38-in (vertical) tube for high-definition television (HDTV) are discussed. Design details are given for the glass vacuum tube, the aperture grill and phosphor screen, and the electron gun and deflection yoke. The characteristics of the cathode-ray tube and display monitor are examined
