Abstract
A rapid electrochemical corrosion test for a rigid thin-film (TF) magnetic recording disk has been developed. An AC impedance technique is utilized to provide an estimate of the instantaneous corrosion current for a 1 cm2 area of the disk surface exposed to an aqueous electrolyte. Results for tests of CoCr TF media exposed to sulfate- and chloride-containing electrolytes are discussed
