Abstract
A TV receiver that incorporates new types of integrated circuits in order to provide improved picture quality and novel features is described. The substitution of digital signal processing technology wherever possible allows highly automated production and testing that results in cost-effective production. A very important system feature is the selected clock frequency of 13.5 MHz, which is a multiple of the line frequencies used for PAL, SECAM and NTSC. The feature box, a set of three integrated circuits designed to improve video performance, is described. The 100 Hz videotext function and the digital deflection controller are examined in detail
