    Dear readers, welcome to the September 2009 issue of IEEE Network. Professor Ioanis Nikolaidis has finished a distinguished term of service as Editor-in-Chief. I am honored to take over the helm. I was always amazed at Ioanis´ energy and dedication to the magazine. ComSoc is indebted to him for his outstanding service. Fortunately, the magazine will continue to benefit from Ioanis´ service as a technical editor.
