Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to briefly describe a mathematical approach for the direct coupling between analytical formal solution of magnetic scalar potential and reluctance network method for the magnetic modelling of electrical machines. This coupling can help solve the problem of air-gap modelling in magnetic equivalent circuit method, and the consideration of the local magnetic saturation in modelling approaches involving analytical formal solution of Maxwell´s equations. The analytical formal solution of magnetic scalar potential is developed in low permeability regions of the machine while the reluctance network method is used to model the ferromagnetic regions. The effectiveness of the proposed hybrid model is demonstrated by comparing obtained results with finite elements simulation for an illustrative case study.
