Abstract :
Limit cycles in zero-input N-order digital filters due to two´s-complement truncation quantizers are investigated. A necessary condition and a sufficient condition for the existence of such limit cycles are presented. For the case of period one and period two, a necessary and sufficient condition is established. Some illustrative examples are given
