  • Abstract
    In order to select proper reliability analysis method for engineering problem, this paper presents a comparative study on different algorithms for reliability analysis. For the accuracy improvement of the sensitivity-assisted Monte Carlo simulation (SA-MCS) method, the second-order derivatives are incorporated with the finite element method. Finally, performances of the SA-MCS method and conventional reliability index approach, performance measure approach are investigated through applications to analytic example and superconducting magnetic energy storage (SMES) system.
