Abstract :
This letter addresses a new challenge in the area of wireless communication networks, which is the need for statistical models describing the terminals behavior in a context where terminals have to operate under a variety of standards and in a close electromagnetic environment perturbed by a variety of disturbances. Despite that the human hand and head constitute dominant perturbations when dealing with handsets, their variables influence on the radioelectric properties of terminals in such a context is not well known. The aim of this letter is thus to study the frequency wise antenna-head interaction, having in mind the carrier frequencies of the various relevant standards. For this purpose, different configurations of antennas in the presence of a human head model are simulated under a full-wave electromagnetic solver. From the body of data thus gathered, an analysis of the statistical proper ties of the antenna-head interactions is performed. It results in the extraction of the General Extreme Value distribution as the most suitable model to better represent the impedance matching and the total efficiency of the disturbed antennas.
