The Yellow Book Becomes the IEEE 3007 Series [Standards]

In 2002, the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Industrial and Commercial Power Systems Department and the IEEE Standards Association initiated a major project to reorganize the 13 IEEE Color Book series of standards. The primary goal of the project is to split up the recommended practices into a series of dot standards, such as IEEE 3001.1, to allow each technical topic to be developed and balloted individually. The secondary goal of the project is to eliminate duplicate material that presently exists in the Color Book standards.
