Abstract :
This paper presents an improved, scattered pilot synchronization (SPS) scheme in digital video broadcasting-handheld (DVB-H) systems, which detect the pilot pattern of the currently received orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol. To reduce the SPS time, and to mitigate the influence of the sampling frequency offset (SFO), the proposed SPS method is based on the conventional correlation-based SPS, and adopts a partial correlation. By using computer simulations, the synchronization performances of the traditional SPS and the new proposed SPS algorithms are evaluated in terms of their probabilities of synchronization failure.
