Abstract :
A numerical pattern synthesis optimisation technique for shaped and sidelobe beams adhering to desired array element excitations are described. The synthesis approach is a modification of the Woodward synthesis method with an additional sidelobe minimisation, and the final element excitation optimisation is based on array polynome complex root swapping and genetic algorithms. These methods have been applied to an equispaced linear planar array. Results of the synthesis and genetic algorithms are presented
