Abstract :
An alternative technique of evaluating the probability density function (PDF) of the loop-phase error of a first-order phase-locked loop in the face of a noisy signal accompanied by a cochannel tone interference, using the joint PDF of the resultant signal amplitude and phase, is presented. The numerical computations show that the results obtained are equivalent to those obtained elsewhere
