Abstract
A fuzzy logic based algorithm is proposed to manage the energy of an autonomous photovoltaic/battery plant in order to supply a pumping installation used for tomatoes irrigation. Considering the photovoltaic panel generation estimation, the pump required power, the tank water level and the battery safety, decisions are taken on relays switching module that connects the system components in different modes. The algorithm aims to fulfil the water needed by the crops, ensure the system autonomy and minimize the unused energy. Simulation results of daily assessment for the vegetative cycle show that the algorithm fulfills the water needed by the crops, ensures the system autonomy and minimizes the unused energy.
