Abstract :
A technique to design a wideband low-profile substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) cavity-backed E-shaped patch antenna is presented in this letter. The proposed antenna combines the attractive features like enhanced bandwidth, low profile, and high radiation efficiency. The antenna and arrays operating at 10 GHz were fabricated and measured. Measured results show that the prototypes with single element achieve a bandwidth of 10.9% for -10-dB return loss and gain of 7.7 dBi, while 2 × 2 arrays achieve a bandwidth of 10.5% and gain of 13.2 dBi.
