Abstract :
The expression for bistatic radar scattering cross section of a thin, finite-length, perfectly conducting wire given by O. Einarson (1987) appears to furnish the most accurate description of this quantity, and to be applicable to a wider range of wire lengths than other formulations. Since only randomly selected illustrative plots of the cross section appear in the literature, comprehensive three-dimensional graphs of the bistatic Einarsson cross section, plotted versus scattering angle and frequency for various angles of incidence, which exhibit both its resonances and its specular-reflection features are presented. Simplified forms of Einarsson´s cross section expressions, which greatly facilitated preparation of the computer code, are also given
