  • Abstract
    A magnetic field sensor utilizing a ferrofluid encapsulated fiber with a ring resonance coupling to and from the cladding modes is demonstrated. The sensor responds to magnetic fields aligned in a certain direction by changes to the visibility of fringes of its interference spectrum. An accuracy of 1.4 × 10-3 T over the range of 0.03-0.14 T is achieved.
