  • Abstract
Glare sensing chips are used for any device that needs to detect the occurrence and location of a very bright light source. The glare sensing chips developed by Professor Albert Titus and the team provide location information so that the system knows where the glare source is in the field of view. For the selective dimming sunglasses the group developed, the advantage of glare sensors in general is that they provide adequate information for glare applications while using a minimum of power. An image sensor can perform the same function, but the power required to record, transmit, and analyse multiple bits from each pixel is a large multiple of the power required to handle a single glare bit.
