Security of authenticated multiple-key agreement protocols

Recently, Harn and Lin [1998] proposed an authenticated multiple-key agreement protocol that enables two parties to authenticate each other and to construct multiple common keys. Later, Yen and Joye [1998] claimed that the Harn-Lin scheme has a security weakness and proposed an improved version. The authors point out that the improved scheme still has the same weakness as does the original scheme
