Abstract :
In conjunction with a plane-wave approximation and the partial reflection of the light by a layered structure, a simplified method of analyzing the light transmission in leaky and absorbing planar waveguides is presented. Numerical calculations show excellent agreements with the results based on a waveguiding problem.
