Abstract :
A new wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM) access passive optical network (PON) architecture was demonstrated using a sequentially pulsed multifrequency laser source that was distributed to support 144 PONs each having eight 53-Mb/s WDM downstream channels. The architecture is scalable to larger numbers of PON´s and channels and higher data rates.
