Abstract :
The shielding efficiency for parallel and transverse fields was examined using three types of shield, and the possibility of magnetic shielding with superconducting multifilament wire was investigated. It was concluded that the magnetic shields with superconducting windings could shield not only the parallel but also the transverse fields to the axis. The stability of the superconducting shield is discussed
