Abstract :
Resistance measurements which are routinely made on superconducting wires and cables for accelerator magnets can provide an accurate measure of the copper-to-superconductor ratio. Compared to the etch and weight technique, a resistance specification for Cu/Sc is preferable for monitoring of this parameter during wire and cable production. Results shown here indicate that by using the 4 K magnetoresistance data of bulk copper and the size effect formula for the resistivity enhancement of copper, the measured residual resistance ratio can be used to estimate the resistance at high fields
