Abstract :
Simplified expressions are reported for the shielding and transport loss components as a function of the applied transverse field and the transport current. These expressions are based on a numerical solution but are approximated by analytic expressions in such a way that they are as simple to use as the equivalent expressions derived from the one-dimensional slab model. A comparison of the two models is presented
