Abstract :
All the activities related to production, consumption and distribution of goods and services come under the ambit of economics. The world is continuously evolving and so are these activities. In today´s information age, computing is also witnessing a paradigm shift - from traditional client-server based to the cloud. Cloud computing facilitates innovations in businesses, development of business models and effective usage of Information Technology in general. Just like any other economic activity, there are certain costs and benefits associated with the cloud computing. This underlying economics will be instrumental in structuring the future of cloud based computing. Additionally, if the economic perspective of the cloud is taken care of properly, it will also help in effectively combating the economic downturn.
