Abstract :
Networking community is largely depending on simulation to evaluate the behavior and performance of protocols for networks. A network simulator is program models the behavior of a network, without an actual network being present. During the past years, varieties of network simulation tools have been developed in the field of communication. In this article, present a case study of implementation and simulation of new protocol in NS2 version 2.34 for the PING protocol in MANET environment. The goal is to understand the organizational structure of network simulator tool namely: NS2 and to show that how to develop and simulate user defined new protocol for MANET environment in NS2 simulator. The AODV reactive routing protocol is considered for MAENT environment to present the implementation process of PING protocol.
