Abstract :
This paper describes a novel frequency-domain approach to identification of mechanical systems with friction on the basis of their periodic steady-state motions. Most importantly, the proposed method does not require acceleration information for its implementation. An interesting feature is that any periodic excitation input with sufficiently large amplitude and/or frequency can ensure the feasibility of the proposed method. We also present some experimental results to illuminate further its practical use.
