Abstract :
In this paper, the issue of the robustness of the installing locations and feedback signals of FACTS-based stabilizers in multimachine power systems to the variations of power system operating conditions is raised and discussed. A new eigensolution free method of modal control analysis is proposed to select the robust installing locations and feedback signals of FACTS-based stabilizers. In the paper, an example three-machine power system is presented where the method proposed is used to select robust installing location and feedback signal of a TCSC-based stabilizer to be installed in the power system
