Abstract :
Noting that ISDN customer premises equipment (CPE) is critical to the successful deployment of ISDN whatever the bandwidth, the author examines the market for narrowband and wideband integrated services digital network (NISDN and BISDN) CPE. He establishes the basic requirements for NISDN terminals and discusses terminal adaptors, digital telephone sets, screen-based telephony, workstations, customer premises networks, and CPE maintenance and upgrades. He examines the BISDN market and discusses the features and architecture of the terminals.<>
