Abstract
Silicon steel is mainly used as the core material in motors due to its low cost. However, it is impossible to expect a significant improvement in torque performance unless the problem of magnetic saturation is solved. In order to dramatically improve torque performance, it is necessary to use a rotor and stator core material that has a high saturation flux density. Therefore, this paper describes a suitable motor structure for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors with high flux density material (permendur), and the torque performance is estimated by finite element analysis. In addition, the proposed motor with the permendur is evaluated based on the experiment.
